Lit circle part 1
Text to self
There is always a connection between one and another, the book I read recently is called “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian” it is about a boy who gets bullied and moves to a school where everyone is white, he compares and contrasts his life in Wellpinit and his life in Reardan. The connection between book and self is that in reality people like for example Me, I moved from one school to another and so did the boy Arnold Spirit Junior; this is a link showing how different life can be in two different areas even if you enjoyed living on both areas.
Part 2
Text to World
In this book “ The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian” there are things included that many people have to deal with it in the world, like the way in some countries there is more suffering than another. In Wellpinit many Indians were known to have been to like a 100 funeral due to them having suffer from loss of relatives, whereas kids in Reardan have only been to a few and suffer much less. In the world this is true; the death rate in one population is higher than in some others. This is very Sad but it is a thing the most suffering people have to deal with. Also in the book being my source for this talk, there is a lot of bullying. This is normal in schools but getting beat up in schools links to this book being the source. This book reminds me of a song put together by various artists about bullying. It was called “Stand Up”, the cause to help kids deal with bullies, a thing that Junior did not handle very well in Wellpinit. Final example in the book was that there was some racism in the book. Like when Arnold, (which is what people call him at Reardan) first arrived at Reardan he was bullied in a different way, he was not beat up but called names by bigger guys who would insult him with racist comments. This reminds me that the world used people of different race differently, now that things change over time many racist books are banned I some places in America and in other countries.
