Four of our favored speeches that spread to parts of the world have been understandable and entertaining. So who is the whole gossip focused on? Well, the speech “wear sunscreen” was spoken Baz Luhrmann who spoke about rights to wear sunscreen and also on living life his advice in other words it is his guide to safe skin and a great life. The advantages of this speech was that it was entertaining, he sounded serious but sadly, the disadvantages was that his tone remained the same throughout no sign of him feeling passionate or that he would care deeply about life and sunscreen. This speech sounded more like it as read from a piece of paper and not from the heart. Another speech “About family” by Zach Wahls was also quite a big hit, it was Zach talking about his family, how he lived and the fact that he is not that different from everyone else. The advantages of his speech were that he sounded passionate about it and had a change of volume and tone in his voice, he was indeed very entertaining. The disadvantages was that his speech was a little rushed towards the end and a change of pace in speaking makes a bad impact on others listening. Nevertheless, this speech was really good and the change in speed was increased only a little and was almost unnoticeable. There is even a speech “Don’t tell me words don’t matter” by Barack Obama before his election as president. His proved to be one of his best speeches he made. The advantages of his speech was that Barack Obama did not rush his speech, had many pauses to see an impact from the audience and changed tone at the right moments in the speech. The disadvantage of his speech was that it was a little slow paced taking more time than it should have taken. There is finally, the speech from the Great Dictator movie by Charlie Chaplin. The advantages of his speech was that he had great change in tone he sounded extremely serious and it felt it had come from the deepest part of his heart, he had spoken like a leader. The disadvantage is that there were no pauses in his speech for effect. Overall, I liked the Charlie Chaplin speech the most and think he would do the best job with my speech because of his great tone change and his act of seeming to be the most passionate speaker with words coming from the deep parts of the heart. From his speech I have learnt that changing tones makes the speech more interesting and that it should feel like it has come from the heart.
From hearing all four of these speeches, I must say the speech that was ringing in my ears most of all at the end of the day was the Charlie Chaplin speech, the one I remember the most because the goal was to convince and persuade the other men to listen to him. Some words that had a great impact on me was the quote “We are not machines, we are human beings” this was one of my favourite lines in the speech as I agreed with him and we learn from this that he and men don’t get the best treatment and are very unhappy about it. The speech was so good I wanted to take action with him and learn more about what he said, I wanted him to say more.
